Iris eating a snack and looking at the cargo bike

All day on the bike minivan

Jenny had an appointment in Canby of all places at exactly Kid Pickup Hour of all times. I spent all day on the Yuba Mundo cargo bike. Add to that two no wait three bridges were out of commission.

Orion and Iris to school in the morning and then to the office for two hours of meetings then double rush to Milwaukie to fetch Ada from preschool then back to Richmond to get all three kids and back to the house to get Iris changed for her Spring ballet performance (and home again, natch).

There was exactly one moment where I thought “ya know Paul this is kind of extreme” and it was when I was grinding up SE 45th with Ada out of Johnson Creek toward Woodstock.

I could have in theory driven Iris to her ballet but did you catch the part about the three closed bridges? (Car) traffic was a nightmare. Much more Zen on the bike. When we were on the Tillicum a bald eagle flew directly under us. We watched the full moon rise on our way home.

So: 42mi today on our 75lb cargo bike with zero, one, two, or three kids; in my streetclothes. No toeclips. Bolt upright on a saddle wider than my ass.

Oh crap my knees.
